Free electric scooter rentals for Government St. and Downtown. The two areas are up and coming. We are seeing more and more businesses pop up in an area that cannot handle the traffic. The Diet Plan is not going to fix any traffic issues. My idea of scooter rentals stems from visiting other big cities as well as places like Lafayette. The important thing is create designated large free parkinglots for people to park, and have the rental hubs throughout the street to pick up and drop off. Make the rentals free for a certain amount of time to encourage use. If done right, you can also link downtown and the trendy area of government st. by reducing blight, fixing sidewalks, and better lighting. Create a fun and safe atmosphere for a part of the city that everyone seems to have decided is trendy to live/work.
Why electric scooters? Bikes can be complicated. Some are intimidated by the rules surrounding bike use in the city. Scooters can be ridden on sidewalks comfortably.

Anybody grow up with sidewalks? How about Greenbelts?

Anybody grow up with sidewalks? How about Greenbelts?
That's where it all starts. The neighborhood you grow up in. No matter what color you are, or how much money your family has or doesn't have, growing up with a sense of community is what gives you a foundation of security and confidence to grow up reaching for the stars & daring to be different. This push button generation of kids who don't go outside to play with confidence, are sneaking outside to be on local music videos instead. They know all of the lyrics, get to hold big brother's modified gun, and there's nothing else to do. A fellowship of gangsters, instead of neighbors. What do they have to lose? Take back pride in your neighborhoods, in your homes. Incentives. Contests that motivate tasks that will beautify. A small win can go a long way! Award 20 winners $25! Not one $500 prize. Build sidewalks and water fountains and a swing and paint curbs. It doesn't take much to touch everyone. Get folks outside. I'm available talk
