Baton Rouge, La. — September 16, 2022 — Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome encourages East Baton Rouge Parish residents to off their household hazardous materials for Household Hazardous Materials Collection Day Saturday, October 1, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The City-Parish will hold this event at LSU’s Touchdown Village Parking Lot, located on South Quad Dr., across from Engineering Lane. Residents should remain in their vehicles while workers collect their materials.
“Participating in Household Hazardous Materials Collection Day is an easy way for our residents to work together to help protect our local community and environment,” said Mayor Broome. “The improper disposal of hazardous materials poses a threat to our families, collection crews, and community. I encourage our residents to use this opportunity to learn about hazardous materials and join us in safely and responsibly disposing of these items. Together, we can keep our families, our community, and our environment safe.”
Only East Baton Rouge Parish residents presenting valid identification are eligible to participate. Commercial waste will not be accepted.
