Baton Rouge, LA – September 7, 2021 – Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome today announced the departure of Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Dr. Pamela Ravare-Jones. Dr. Jones is assuming the role of Vice Chancellor of Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Initiatives at Baton Rouge Community College. Her final day in the administration was Friday, September 3, 2021.
Dr. Jones first joined the administration in April 2019 and was responsible for leading the Administration's Human Resources, Division of Human Development and Services, Juvenile Services, Educational Initiatives with EBRPSS, and Capital Area Promise along with the Mayor’s Homelessness Prevention Coalition (HPC), the Mayor’s International Relations Commission (IRC), the Mayor’s Veterans Advisory Council, City Parish’s Strategic Recruitment Taskforce, and the City-Parish’s Pandemic Reopening Taskforce.
“Dr. Jones added enormous value to the administration since she joined our team in April 2019. She demonstrated compassion while leading my Homelessness Prevention Coalition and working with countless partners throughout the Capital City. From the execution of Financial Literacy Seminars at the onset of the pandemic, to the creation of street signage addressing panhandling and littering, to the recently implemented Behavioral Health-Homeless Outreach Team, and establishing greater visibility to several Educational Taskforce, her contributions will be recognized long term,” said Mayor Broome. “I know Dr. Jones will make an impact at BRCC as she continues to follow her life’s purpose in the field of education. On behalf of everyone at City-Parish, I wish Pamela the very best as she serves our educational community.”
