Proposed Plan of Government Amendments Public Meeting for Metropolitan Council District 4

Metropolitan Councilmember Aaron Moak, District 4, will host a Community Meeting on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, from 6:00 p.m.–7:45 p.m. at the Fairwood Branch Library, located at 12910 Old Hammond Hwy.

The public meeting is being held to provide residents with an overview of proposed amendments to the East Baton Rouge Parish Plan of Government. Metropolitan Councilmember Rowdy Gaudet, District 3, will present the information regarding the proposed amendments.

At the public meeting, citizens will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide input on the proposed amendments. Any amendments to the Plan of Government would first appear before the Metro Council for consideration. If approved by the council, proposed amendments would then be placed on a parishwide ballot for consideration by the voters of East Baton Rouge Parish.

The Plan of Government Amendment Committee was created by the Metropolitan Council in September 2017. The committee proposed several amendments to the Plan of Government. The committee completed its work in June 2019.

Information about the proposed amendments to the East Baton Rouge Plan of Government, including a summary of the proposed amendments, links to archived videos of Plan of Government Amendment Committee meetings, and an online public comment form, is located at www.brla.gov/PlanofGovernment.
