Baton Rouge, La. — May 26, 2021 — East Baton Rouge Parish residents who incurred property damage during the severe weather beginning on May 17 are encouraged to complete the online Damage Assessment Survey at brla.gov/emergency or damage.la.gov. The deadline for the survey is Tuesday, June 1.
Anyone who needs assistance with the survey can call 211 or visit the East Baton Rouge Parish Library System to complete the online survey. The survey is intended for homes and businesses; no vehicles.
The survey is designed to be user-friendly and should only take a few minutes to complete. Information collected will help parish, state, and federal authorities understand the location and the extent of the damage caused by the disaster event, along with the impact on individuals, families, businesses and public infrastructure.
Residents who have questions about requirements to repair their homes are encouraged to call the Permits and Inspections Division at 225-389-3205.
Completion of the online Damage Assessment Survey is not an application for assistance, and it does not open a claim with an insurance provider.
For additional tips on claiming damage, please visit the Louisiana Department of Insurance’s website at: www.ldi.state.la.us or call 225-342-5900.
