Public Meeting on Proposed Plan of Government Amendments

BATON ROUGE, La. — Tuesday, April 27, 2021 — Metropolitan Councilmember Jen Racca, District 12, and Metropolitan Councilmember Rowdy Gaudet, District 3, are hosting a community meeting 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library, located at 9200 Bluebonnet Blvd.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide an overview of proposed amendments to the Plan of Government of the Parish of East Baton Rouge and City of Baton Rouge.

The Plan of Government Amendment Committee was created by the Metropolitan Council in September 2017. The committee, chaired by former Councilmember Donna Collins-Lewis, has proposed several amendments to the Plan of Government. The committee completed its work in June 2019.

At the public meeting, citizens will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide input on the proposed amendments. Any amendments to the Plan of Government would first appear before the Metro Council for consideration. If approved, proposed amendments would then be placed on a parishwide ballot for consideration by the voters of East Baton Rouge Parish.

All members of the press and interested members of the public are invited to attend.
