BATON ROUGE, LA – April 6, 2021 – Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome announced today the launch of Operation Clean Up, a volunteer-based community beautification program in East Baton Rouge Parish. Clean-up events will be hosted in partnership with each of the 12 Metro Council districts on Saturday, April 10, and Saturday, April 24.
Residents can find more information and register for an event in their district at safehopefulneighborhoods.com/operationcleanup.
“Operation Clean Up is giving our residents the opportunity to revitalize and beautify their community,” said Mayor Broome. “East Baton Rouge Parish is our home and together we can make it an even better place to live through initiatives like this.”
During clean-up events, volunteers will collect litter and debris at various sites throughout the parish. Residents who cannot participate in designated clean-up events are still encouraged to collect litter in their own neighborhoods.
Operation Clean Up is a program supported through the Office of Community Development, in partnership with the Mid City Redevelopment Alliance.
