BATON ROUGE, La. – June 17, 2020 – Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank will host a drive-thru food distribution on Saturday, June 20, at Glen Oaks High School. Boxes of nutritious food will provided for up to 1,000 families from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The event is intended to support residents who face food insecurity because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The event is being co-sponsored by State Senator Regina Barrow, State Representative Edmond Jordan, Metro Councilwoman Erika Green, and East Baton Rouge Parish School Board Member Dadrius Lanus.
Residents in need of a food box for their household should report to 6650 Cedar Grove Drive, Baton Rouge, beginning at 9 a.m. Residents are encouraged to arrive early if they choose.
