March 6, 2020 – The Mayor’s Youth Workforce Experience (MYWE) Partner Kickoff will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at Goodwood Library.
The partnership kickoff provides an opportunity for past and potential partners to learn how to get involved with the program; the event will highlight the goals and outlook for 2020. Mayor Broome will be seeking businesses and industry leaders interested in supporting her goal of employing and developing 1,000 youth within the City-Parish.
The Mayor’s Youth Workforce Experience is an opportunity for youth to develop skills that prepare them to meet the needs of today’s workforce. Youth have the opportunity to learn educational and professional development skills that set the foundation for future employment and academic success.
“When I first took office, this program only served 150 youth in our community. I am taking a leap of faith and encouraging our community to get involved so that we can employ 1,000 youth across Baton Rouge,” said Broome. “When we prepare our children for success, we are creating a more successful Baton Rouge.”
