Grease Trap Data Added to Open Data BR

Our final addition to the Open Data BR portal for the week is all about grease – the bad kind.

In East Baton Rouge Parish, all businesses that discharge anything other than domestic wastewater must have a pretreatment program. In the food industry, this is typically a grease interceptor or grease trap.

The latest dataset addition to our Open Data BR portal includes the location of all permitted grease traps in EBR, along with inspection details from our Department of Environmental Services that include data such as verification of proper cleaning and maintenance of an establishment’s grease trap, if an establishment passed or failed an inspection, if grease containers are being prevented from discharging into nearby storm drains, and more.

For more information and to access the Grease Trap Inspection dataset, visit: http://bit.ly/greasetrapdata

As a reminder, we’ll be discussing these and other open data resources from 2 – 4 p.m. this Saturday, March 7, at the Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd., at our Open Data Day 2020 community event. We hope to see you there!
