BATON ROUGE, LA — Wednesday, January 29, 2020 — EmployBR is partnering with Marquette Transportation Company (MTC) to host a job fair event for the Baton Rouge metropolitan area. MTC is a marine transportation company that transports a variety of merchandise via barges, inland/offline vessels, and offshore tugboats through rivers, gulf inland and offshore. MTC is hiring to fill deckhand positions. Candidates must: be 18 years or older; have a valid driver’s license; be able to pass 10-panel drug test along with a 7-year background check; meet all physical qualifications per MTC guidelines; be able to attain a TWIC card; and be able to speak, read, and write in English (USCG regulations). Applicants will work a 14 days on, 7 days off rotation and are required to work 12-hour shifts. Candidates work nights one week; days the next week; and one week off. Deckhands earn $155 dollars per day.

The job fair will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 with sessions at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at EmployBR’s north Baton Rouge location on 4523 Plank Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70805.
