BATON ROUGE, LA — January 10th, 2020 — Today, Mayor Broome announced that Friday, January 10th is LSU Spirit Day. She encourages all Baton Rouge residents to wear purple and gold to support LSU Football in their pursuit of the undisputed national title on Monday, January 13th.
Mayor Broome also made a friendly wager with Clemson, South Carolina’s Mayor, J.C. Cook. The mayor of the losing team must wear the opposing team’s jersey at their next city council meeting. Mayor Broome encourages Mayor Cook to get his LSU jersey pressed and ready to be worn.
“I am looking forward to seeing you all in New Orleans next week,” said Mayor Broome. “And remember, the real slogan is Geaux Tigers!”
Mayor Broome requests that fans post selfies in their LSU gear and tag @mayorbroome and #LSU, and she will repost her favorite photos.
