Tropical Storm Barry shelter status update

The following shelters have been opened:

COMMUNITY SHELTER

The F.G. Clark Activity Center, located at 801 Harding Blvd, is open as a shelter to the community. The shelter is staffed by the American Red Cross and has capacity for 400 citizens.

***AT THIS TIME, ONLY THE F.G. CLARK ACTIVITY CENTER IS AN ACTIVE SHELTER. The City-Parish is actively staging other locations in the event that additional shelters are necessary.


COMMUNITY RECEIVING CENTER

The Charles R. Kelly Community Center, located at 3535 Riley Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70805, opened Friday night at 8pm as a community receiving center, serving as a transitional / temporary shelter in order to determine assistance based on a citizen’s needs.
