A ribbon cutting-ceremony for the River South Community-Police Connection Center will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at the center's 1428 Thomas Delpit Drive location.
The public is invited to join Councilwoman Tara Wicker, Councilman Trae Welch, members of the Community-Police Ambassador Program, and members of the Police Policy Review Advisory Team, along with invited guests Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, Chief Murphy Paul, and other partners.
“We are so excited! The Community Connection Centers serve as a neutral meeting place for both Baton Rouge City police officers and citizens of the community, where there can be interaction between the two that would ultimately result in an improved, trusting and mutually respectful relationship," said Councilwoman Wicker.
“The Community Connection Centers supports our continued efforts to improve community-police relations. Keep talking, Baton Rouge, we will never stop listening," said Chief Murphy Paul.
