Open Data BR Adds Annexation Dataset and 2018 Tax Roll

The Open Data BR team has published a new dataset and added the 2018 property tax records to the EBRP tax roll.

The Baton Rouge Annexation History dataset details the expansion of the city limits each time an ordinance annexed land. The records date back to the city’s incorporation in 1817; all individual annexations from 1948-2018 are included.

Each entry includes the date of annex, a brief description of the location, and the size of the land added. Each location’s area is measured in acres and square miles; the Cumulative columns show the total amount of area annexed, and the city’s total area after each annexation.

The Assessor’s Office provides tax records annually on all land parcels in the parish for the East Baton Rouge Parish Tax Roll dataset. The data includes the taxpayers’ names, address, homestead exemption, and assessment statuses. Users can search nearly 1.5 million tax records dating from 2015.

Use Open Data BR’s Filter tools to sort the results based on specific content; the Visualize options can create a map or chart of your search. Sign in or create an account to save and refine your research.
