BATON ROUGE, LA — January 30, 2019 — Today, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome announced that the first 2019 installment of Operation Fresh Start, the Mayor’s community-wide clean-up effort, is set for Saturday, February 16 from 8-11 am. Operation Fresh Start begins with a Saturday of beautification and litter pickup by volunteers, followed by a week of concentrated and aggressive DPW cleanup focused on clearing litter and blight as well as improving landscapes throughout East Baton Rouge Parish.
Mayor Broome encourages volunteers to join community clean-up efforts at various locations throughout the parish. Citizens and organizations interested in volunteering for Operation Fresh Start can sign up here.
Volunteers may join cleanup efforts at the following cleanup locations:
- Baker: Meet at Baker Municipal Auditorium, 3325 Groom Rd, Baker, LA 70714
- Downtown: Meet at Repentance Park, 275 S River Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70802
- Eden Park: Meet at Star Hill Baptist Church, 1400 N Foster Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70806
- Gardere: Meet at Hartley/Vey Park at Gardere, 1702 Gardere Ln, Baton Rouge, LA 70820
- Mid City: Meet at Mid City Redevelopment Alliance, 419 N 19th St, Baton Rouge, LA 70802
