BATON ROUGE, LA — January 2, 2019 — Due to the slight risk for heavy rainfall forecasted for later tonight through tomorrow evening, the City-Parish announces that sand and sand bag pickup locations remain available. Residents are advised to bring their own shovels.
East Baton Rouge Parish can expect to see light to moderate rainfall beginning later tonight. Consistent rainfall will persist through the evening hours tomorrow.
The City-Parish Department of Public Works crews continue to work diligently on routine drainage maintenance calls and are responding to 3-1-1 work orders requiring immediate action.
MOHSEP staff continues to monitor the situation and remains in close communication with the National Weather Service forecasters. MOHSEP staff are also monitoring river stages in and around East Baton Rouge Parish.
