BATON ROUGE, LA — December 27, 2018 — Due to the moderate risk of heavy rain and potential for flash flooding forecasted today, the City-Parish announced that sandbags will be available at multiple locations today from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Residents are advised to bring their own shovels.
The Mayor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness staff will continue to monitor the situation and stay in close communication with the National Weather Service forecasters. MOHSEP staff are also monitoring river stages in and around East Baton Rouge Parish. Currently, no rivers are projected to reach flood stage.
