During the 2018 State of The City Address, Mayor Sharon Weston Broome announced her intention to develop and adopt an All-Hazards Community Recovery Plan for East Baton Rouge Parish. Mayor Broome, in coordination with the Mayor's Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (MOHSEP), will host public outreach meetings to gather feedback from residents on what recovery means and how they define resiliency. Her vision for recovery planning is to follow guidelines set forth by the FEMA’s National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF). Planning efforts are ongoing and are intended to incorporate all four East Baton Rouge Parish municipalities as well as the unincorporated areas of the parish.
Residents are encouraged to come out and meet local, state, and federal subject-matter experts to discuss the development of a framework for future recovery efforts within East Baton Rouge Parish. We ask residents to bring their family, children, friends, and neighbors. Activities, information, and giveaways will be provided to attendees.
