The GIS Division has created a new online application to map 311 service requests in East Baton Rouge Parish. The Red Stick 311 Dashboard app displays the total entries for categories such as Blight, Street and Traffic Issues, Garbage, and Code Violations within time frames ranging from the past week to year-to-date.
The 311 request categories are:
- Blight
- Code Violations
- Drainage, Erosion, Flooding, Holes
- Environmental Issues
- Garbage
- Mowing and Tree Issues
- Neighborhood and Subdivision Issues
- Recycling
- Road Maintenance
- Sewer and Wastewater
- Street and Traffic Issues
All categories are displayed on the Dashboard with their request totals, with subtotals of how many of those cases are Open and Closed. Users can filter their results by date range and zone (neighborhood, council district, and/or ZIP code). The Dashboard landing page is useful for comparing all the categories’ statistics in one view.
For a closer look at the data, click on a category’s tab at the bottom of the Dashboard’s window. (Note: For better display, maximize the browser window to fill your screen.) This will display subtypes of specific issues within each category, each color-coded on a bar graph, pie chart, and interactive map of the parish. In addition to filtering the data by time frame and area, users can remove subtypes by clicking on them; clicking on a segment of a chart will filter the map’s view to show only the highlighted subtype points. Clicking on a specific dot on the map will display a pop-up window showing that location’s address, status, relevant dates, and comments by 311 reps.
The 311 dashboard app is one of several interactive tools featured in the banner gallery on the EBRGIS Map Portal. The app’s data and numbers comprise 311 calls for only the current year; the 311 data is updated daily.
