The Louisiana Workforce Commission will join the Office of the Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome for a memorial program and live oak tree dedication ceremony. Mayor Broome will also use this opportunity to announce the adoption of OSHA safety standards for all East Baton Rouge Parish Public Works agencies.
Observed annually on April 28, Workers’ Memorial Day is nationally recognized as a time to honor and remember those who have been killed, injured, or disabled while on the job. It also serves as a time for labor organizations and advocates to renew their commitment to creating safe and healthy work environments for all.
