[ARCHIVED] Mayor Broome Announces Sandbag Locations

The National Weather Service (NWS) Slidell has forecasted an Enhanced Risk of severe weather for East Baton Rouge Parish beginning late tonight through tomorrow. The NWS Slidell is anticipating 3-5” of rain for our area tonight through tomorrow as well as 25-30 mph winds. East Baton Rouge is not under any watches or warnings as of 3:00 p.m. Friday.

As a precautionary measure, Mayor-President Broome ordered that sand and sandbags be made available to the public. Sand and sandbags can be found at the following locations; residents are advised to bring their own shovels.
