Baton Rouge, LA – September 20, 2023 – City-Parish announced today a unique hiring event designed to rapidly fill 40 to 45 laborer positions across two public works departments. This special hiring event will take place at the Human Resources Building, located at 1755 Florida St, 9am–1pm Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

Job seekers will benefit from a streamlined interview and hiring process, to present conditional employment offers on the very same day, with a goal of onboarding new hires within the next pay cycle.

To facilitate this swift and straightforward process, applicants are required to bring their social security card and a government-issued photo ID. Staff will be on hand to guide candidates through the application, interview, and immediate conditional hiring procedures, all within the span of a single day. Positions will be offered on the spot, enabling successful candidates to commence work almost immediately.

This accelerated hiring initiative aims to address immediate needs within two key departments: The Department of Development Neighborhood Revitalization, which focuses on blight remediation, and the Department of Maintenance, responsible for drainage, roads, and landscaping tasks.
