BATON ROUGE, LA — March 21, 2018 — Today, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome announced the start of an economic development listening tour aimed at addressing workforce development challenges faced by local businesses.
“We have repeatedly heard about the workforce challenges that our small-medium and large enterprizes are having in the city-parish,” said Mayor Broome. “My goal is to better understand their challenges and work to connect them with EmployBR and other city-parish resources.”
Mayor Broome will visit 36 companies representing various industries and a mix of small-medium, minority-owned, and large businesses before the end of the year. Included on the tour are the Baton Rouge-based operations of Georgia-Pacific, Coca-Cola, Setpoint Integrated Solutions, and ExxonMobil.
