  1. WHAT: National Night Out Against Crime is an effort to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. There will be food, vendors, and entertainment by Kenny Loup and Chris LeBlanc.

  1. WHAT: Not From This House, Community Town Hall on Violence is a call out to all fathers, sons, and brothers for a discussion about gun violence in Baton Rouge. Keynote speaker: Dr. Freddy Haynes, III of Friendship-West Baptist Church, Dallas, TX. 

WHO: 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge

WHEN: Wednesday, August 3 at 6 PM

WHERE: Glen Oaks High School Auditorium, 6650 Cedar Grove Dr.

WHAT: Back to School Bash 2022 encourages East Baton Rouge Parish Public Schools students and families to come out for free food, entertainment, school supply giveaways, haircuts, a kids' play zone, and more. Representatives from each school along with student support services will be present to answer any questions.

WHEN: Saturday, August 6 from 11 AM-2 PM

  1. WHAT: Total Teen Takeover Kickback provides an empowering space for scholars in the Mayor’s Youth Workforce Experience to celebrate the conclusion of this year’s program. There will be food, health screenings, and music by DJ Yung Nae.

  1. WHAT: Hoop Fest is a free 3-on-3 basketball tournament open to male, female, and co-ed teams. There will be food, music, and prizes.
