Quick Pay Center
The Community Center offers a Quick Pay Center for residents to pay their Energy or Water/Sewer bills. Payments may be made between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Payments are accepted by check or money order only.
Paternity Testing
Paternity testing was a service previously offered at the community center. It was completed by Reliagene Technologies, a company based in New Orleans, Louisiana. This service is no longer provided at the Community Center. You may call 800-256-4106 to find the nearest testing site in Baton Rouge.
Sexually Transmitted diseases testing
Baton Rouge Black Alcoholism Council has an office in Dr. Leo S Butler Community Center (Metro Health), and this organization’s mission is: to develop and implement strategies that will reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases; to educate and provide risk reduction counseling and testing to individuals in institutional and community settings; to encourage early HIV testing; to motivate behavioral changes in individuals with behaviors that put them at risk of getting infected with HIV/STDs; to increase the awareness of preventive services; to render support and directions to persons infected with HIV and other STDs; to offer alcohol and drug prevention and referral services (basic education and connecting individuals with alcohol or drug problems to counseling and treatment services). LOUISIANA State university Medical Center
The LSU Medical Center has an outreach branch located in the Dr. Leo S. Butler Community Center for LSU Medical Center (EKL) patients. The phone number is 225-342-8225.
Rental for Parties, Meetings, & More
The Community Center has rooms available for rental for parties, gatherings and meetings. To rent the center for personal events or meetings, contact Cynthia at 225-389-4860.

Free tax filing
The Community Center is a VITA site where you may e-file your taxes free of charge. Please call for to schedule an appointment.
LEgal Services
The Community Center also offers legal assistance through the Martinet Legal Foundation, a society of black attorneys who assist with Pro Bono (unpaid) cases, as well as other legal matters. To reach someone in that office, call 225-387-2278.
affordable housing assistance
Old South Baton Rouge Revitalization is an organization designed to assist with the redevelopment of South Baton Rouge by putting up newly constructed affordable housing for the residents of South Baton Rouge. The organization is spearheaded by Col. Harold T. Webb. Call 225-389-8944 for more information and details.
Community Development
Community University Partnership, or CUP for short, works to combine the resources of LSU with the strengths of Old South Baton Rouge to build a stronger, more economically sustainable community. This program is funded primarily by a three-year grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, although smaller grants help to supplement several of the activities sponsored by CUP.
CUP works in three key areas: Neighborhood Revitalization, Community Organization, and Development. Cup’s Projects include sponsoring workshops and trainings, building playgrounds, sponsoring neighborhood clean-up campaigns and free legal sessions. Annual Health Fair
The Community Center also hosts an Annual Health Fair in August for residents of the community to inform them of changing health habits and how to maintain healthy lifestyles.
Camp Computer
Camp Computer is a summer program sponsored by Mrs. Lorri Burgess. The camp is geared to help children in our area become more computer proficient and to assist them with studying for the LEAP exams.
Free Haircuts
