The North Landfill is free for East Baton Rouge Parish residents to bring their garbage and trash with proof of residence, such as a driver’s license or water bill. This free service excludes demolition debris, trees or large parts of trees, plumbing debris, roofing, automobile parts and contractor debris. For landfill rules and waste acceptance click here. Garbage and trash may be dropped off at the North Landfill, located at 16001 Samuels Road, between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The landfill is closed on Sunday.
Acceptable materials include residential solid waste, commercial solid waste, and bulky recyclables (automobile tires, white goods such as refrigerators, freezers, stoves, water tanks, washing machines, artificial Christmas trees, lawnmowers, and trimmers). Unacceptable materials include hazardous waste, PCB contaminated materials exceeding TSCA Limit, asbestos contaminated materials, liquid solid waste, and industrial solid waste.
