Purchasing is responsible for purchasing supplies, and materials, and handling contractual services for all user agencies of the City-Parish government.

- Online Vendor Registration: A user-friendly online platform (VSS) which allows vendors to register and receive notifications about relevant solicitations, making it easier for them to engage with the City Parish Purchasing department.
- Pre-Bid Conferences: The department organizes pre-bid conferences to clarify project specifications, answer vendor questions, and provide insights that contribute to more competitive and accurate bids.
- Supplier Diversity Programs (SEDBE): Actively promoting diversity and inclusion, the department implements programs to encourage participation from minority-owned, women-owned, and small businesses, enriching the local vendor landscape.
