Student Internship Program
The City of Baton Rouge, Parish of East Baton Rouge is proud to announce the implementation of a High School and College Student Internship Program. This cooperative initiative will allow high school and college students to contract with City-Parish departments to gain a working knowledge of our Civil Service System while providing area students with valuable work experience. Eligibility Criteria
High School Students
The prospective candidate must be at least 16 years of age, enrolled in a secondary educational institute within East Baton Rouge Parish in grade level 10 through 12, and recommended by the school counselor for the internship. If age 18 or older, candidate must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening. All candidates are responsible for their own transportation. Only candidates who meet the specified criteria will be considered.
College Students
The prospective candidate must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a university or community college in the area. Candidate must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening. All candidates are responsible for their own transportation.
Only candidates who meet the specified criteria will be considered. There are limited positions; department heads will hire students that best meet departmental needs.
