Student Internship Program
The City of Baton Rouge, Parish of East Baton Rouge is proud to announce the implementation of a High School and College Student Internship Program. This cooperative initiative will allow high school and college students to contract with City-Parish departments to gain a working knowledge of our Civil Service System while providing area students with valuable work experience. To apply for a Student Intern position, please print and fax an application and resume to 225-389-4962 or mail to Human Resources.
High School Students
The prospective candidate must be at least 16 years of age, enrolled in a secondary educational institute within East Baton Rouge Parish, considered a senior by the high school recommended by the schools counselor for the internship. Candidate must pass pre-employment drug screening and responsible for his or her own transportation.
The prospective candidate must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a university or community college in the area. Candidate must pass pre-employment drug screening and responsible for his or her own transportation.
Only candidates whom meet the specified criteria and whose applications are complete will be forwarded to City-Parish Department Heads for consideration. There are limited positions and department heads will hire students that best meet departmental needs.
