Mayor's Advisory Council on Veterans Affairs

In 2019, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome established the Mayor-President's Advisory Council on Veterans Affairs. The council recognizes the critical role the Baton Rouge veteran community plays in economic progress and social activity.

The mission is to serve as a unified group of veteran service organizations, civic associations, and the local community, who seek to promote the goals and objectives of veteran partners for the common good.

The vision is to foster and support the exchange of information and ideas among veteran organizations; and promote opportunities for community engagement addressing issues related to veteran personnel of all services in East Baton Rouge Parish and the City of Baton Rouge.
