1.Who can join the Credit Union?

To join, you must be an employee of the City of Baton Rouge or a member of any constitutional, board, or commission offices attached thereto. Membership is also open to employees of the following organizations:

  • Baton Rouge Fire Department
  • BRACA
  • BREC
  • Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center
  • Capitol Transportation
  • City of Baker
  • City of Zachary
  • EBR Clerk of Court’s Office
  • EBR COA
  • EBR District Attorney’s Office
  • EBR District Court
  • EBR Family Court
  • EBR Sheriff’s Office

You may also be retired as a pensioner or annuitant of the above employers. Membership is also available to immediate family members of current and retired employees and officeholders. Also, if you work, live, worship, or attend school in the ZIP code 70801 or 70802, you can join.

2.What do I need to join the Credit Union?

Answer: Valid Driver's License or State/Government Issued ID, Original Social Security Card, and proof of residence if different from Driver's License. 

3.What is your definition of immediate family?

Immediate Family is defined as one of the following relationships:

  • Adopted children
  • Children
  • Grandchildren
  • Grandparents
  • Parents
  • Siblings
  • Spouse
  • Stepchildren
  • Stepparents
  • Stepsiblings
4.How long do I have to be a member to apply for a loan?

You can apply for a loan the same day that you open your account.

5.Do I qualify to open a checking account and how much do I have to deposit?

We must get an approved rating from Telecheck and the minimum deposit is $25.

6.How often do you send statements?

Savings account including certificates, IRA’s, and loans only is quarterly. Savings and checking account monthly.

7.Is there a limit on the number of checks I can write each month on my checking account without being charged a fee?

No. You have unlimited check writing privileges at no charge to you.

8.Am I eligible to get a debit card if I only have a savings account?

No. You must have savings and a checking account to apply for an ATM or debit card.
