Division A - Judge Laura Prosser


Laura Prosser was born and raised in Baton Rouge. She received a BS in Psychology and Educational Research from the University of Virginia in 1972 and an M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of Virginia in 1974. She spent ten years teaching and counseling on the high school level before entering LSU Law School. After working as a law clerk in the 19th Judicial District Court, she opened a private practice as a mediator and arbitrator of civil and family disputes in 1993. She was elected Baton Rouge City Court Judge in 2000. She is married to Randy McGee and has two sons, Amos and Benjy.
