Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Mitigation Framework
establishes a common platform and forum for coordinating and addressing how the Nation manages risk through mitigation capabilities and how the Nation will develop, employ, and coordinate mitigation core capabilities.
Mitigation Points To Consider:
Have you performed a risk analysis on either your home, business, school, workplace, etc.?
Do you maintain an inventory of personnel and / or business assets?
Are your property assets properly secured and insured?
Do you store your important documents in a secure and hazard proof location?
Have you considered strengthening your home for all hazards?
Are you aware of your local hardware store locations?
Are you aware of outside elements such as, heat, severe weather, winter weather, and biological threats? Are you prepared to mitigate the risk of these elements?
Do you know if you are in a flood zone?
Do you have flood insurance?
Do you have a current copy of your flood declaration page (if applicable)?
Are you aware of your property flood history?
Do you know how to contact your local floodplain manager?
