Safe Medication Disposal Program
MedPro Disposal, a low-cost alternative medical-waste disposal service, is providing Baton Rouge residents 10% off their sharps disposal mail-back service. The mail-back program offers a safe way for residents to safely and cost-effectively dispose of their used sharps such as needles, syringes, or lancets. Medications, Prescription Drugs, Medical Supplies
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul accepts numerous items for their community Pharmacy.
Items accepted include:
- Advil, low-dose Aspirin, Motrin (200 milligrams) and Aleve
- Cold Medicine for High Blood Pressure
- Pepcid A-C
- Robitussin and Robitussin-PM
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Sugar-free Cough Syrups and Drops
- Tylenol Extra Strength
- Vitamin C

They will also accept many unused prescription drugs. The prescription drugs must be in the original bottle, with an intact legible label—Call 225-383-7450 to inquire what medications they will accept.
Note: They do not accept empty prescription bottles. Empty prescription bottles should be recycled by placing them in your recycling cart.
Supportive Equipment (Wheelchairs, Walkers, Etc.)
